Perfectly crunchy and packed with flavor, I’m personally obsessed with these crackers made from sourdough discard and I make a batch nearly every week. I’ve even got a friend who says she will pay me for them so that tells you how good they are!

Ingredients

1.5 cups sourdough discard (unfed starter)

4 Tbl melted plant based butter (I use Country Crock Avocado Oil Butter)

1.5 tsp kosher salt

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp paprika

6 tsp black sesame seeds (or white if you don’t have black, they will be just as good!)

Preheat your oven to 320 degrees F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix all ingredients together with a spatula until well combined. Spread evenly onto parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 20 min. Remove from oven and use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to score the crackers. I usually make mine about 1.5” square but you can score them to any size you like. Put them back in the oven to bake an additional 15-25 min checking on them at 10 min intervals. Sometimes the crackers around the outer edges of the sheet pan are complete before the ones in the center so you may need to remove them and continue cooking the center until all are evenly golden brown. they may not be super crispy until they are completely cooled off so don’t worry if they seem a bit tender. If they are browned well, they are likley done. Cool them completely and store them in an air tight container….if they last that long!
