I've been working in clay for over 20 yrs and in addition to designing and conceptualizing countless pots on my own, I've also collaborated with other shop owners and individuals on custom orders. Custom orders can range from a single unique mug, platter or serving bowl to an entire set of tableware.
Sometimes a client comes in with a very specific idea of what they want and other times we discuss their aesthetic, or the tastes of the person to whom they are looking to gift a special piece. Either way, I've had fun creating an endless array of custom pieces and I enjoy working one on one with clients.
Depending on my work load, custom orders require a minimum of 4 weeks and can take up to 10 weeks for a large order so it's best to plan WAY ahead of when planning with a deadline in mind. Locals have the option of coming into the retail shop to discuss their order while I am happy to discuss orders that need to be shipped via email or zoom when necessary. Shipping fees cannot be fully calculated until a piece is complete and packed for shipping but I am happy to give estimates when pieces need to travel to a destination home.
